Steps
Obtain a bearer API key from your Voltus account manager (not via self-serve signup)
Authenticate requests with an Authorization: Bearer header as described in the Voltus API Portal quick-start guide
Test integration flows against the Voltus sandbox environment before touching production dispatches
Monitor for dispatch events issued to your enrolled resources and acknowledge/respond within the required window
Submit performance or telemetry data during an active dispatch event as required by the enrolled program
Known gotchas
Production API keys are issued manually by a Voltus account manager, so there is no fully self-serve path to live credentials
Voltus supports both a REST API and OpenADR 2.0a for issuing dispatches — confirm which channel a given program actually uses before building against the REST endpoints
Sandbox dispatch timing and conditions are simulated and do not reflect real ISO/utility event timing or urgency
