Confirm from the approved design which dosing method the system uses - time-dosed (fixed on/off intervals via timer) or demand-dosed (float-triggered dose based on accumulated volume)
For demand-dosed systems, set the on/off floats to deliver a dose sized to roughly one-quarter of estimated daily flow, plus a separate high-level alarm float
For time-dosed systems, program the control panel's dose duration and frequency (e.g., a set number of minutes discharged at fixed intervals) per the engineer's design and confirm the high-level alarm still functions independently of the timer
Verify pump curve (gpm at the design head) matches the dose volume and lateral/orifice requirements before final startup
Test the alarm circuit and document the commissioning per the local health department's startup inspection requirements
