Steps
Generate API v2 keys from Issuu Account Settings > API tab, choosing a token expiration (1 week, 1 month, or 1 year) and token type (Token or Credentials).
Reference the endpoint catalog at api.issuu.com/v2/reference/ for available operations.
Create a draft, upload the source document (e.g., PDF) to it, then publish the draft to make it a live Issuu publication.
Use the statistics endpoints to retrieve reads and engagement data for published documents.
Note that API v1 is being replaced by v2 -- build new integrations against v2 only.
Known gotchas
API keys are time-limited (max 1 year) and must be manually regenerated before expiry, so integrations need a renewal process.
v1 and v2 are not interchangeable -- endpoints, auth, and data shapes differ, so don't mix v1 documentation or examples into a v2 integration.
