Authenticate to the Verisk Risk Solutions API portal using credentials issued through your Verisk client agreement; the Touchstone API requires client-specific access
Format your property exposure data according to AIR's import schema (location, construction class, occupancy, replacement value, geocode); export from your exposure management system in the required format
Upload the exposure portfolio via the Touchstone API import endpoint; await the import job completion status before proceeding
Configure the analysis parameters: select the AIR model (e.g., U.S. Hurricane, U.S. Earthquake), the event set, and financial structure (gross, ceded, net of treaty); submit the analysis job
Poll the job status endpoint; once complete, retrieve the Event Loss Table (ELT) and the return-period loss metrics (100-year, 250-year, etc.) from the results endpoint
Feed the retrieved EP curve and AAL values into your treaty pricing model or cedant reporting package; compare against prior-year results to identify exposure changes
Known gotchas
Touchstone API access is gated behind a Verisk client contract and requires VPN or whitelisted IP connectivity in many configurations — contact Verisk support before assuming direct internet access
AIR model versions update periodically; re-running the same exposure against a newer model version will produce different results even with identical inputs — always record the model version in your analysis metadata
The AIR Hurricane UnderWriting API (available via gateway.verisk.com) is a separate, more lightweight endpoint designed for single-risk underwriting queries — it is not the same as the full Touchstone portfolio analysis API
