Send webhook notifications from Circle.so community events via Workflows

Steps

  1. Circle.so has no standalone webhook-subscription API — webhooks are configured as a 'Send webhook' action inside a Workflow (Settings > Workflows)
  2. Create a Workflow and choose a trigger such as a member joining the community, a member being removed, a new post, or a new comment
  3. Add the 'Send webhook' action and specify a destination URL — Circle POSTs the event's data to it when the workflow runs
  4. Since Circle does not document a signature header or shared secret for these webhooks, validate/allowlist requests by other means (e.g. a secret path segment) rather than assuming payload authenticity
  5. Confirm the account plan includes Workflows before relying on this — it isn't available on all plans
