Confirm the bucket is versioned: mc version info myaistor/mybucket.
Suspend versioning: mc version suspend myaistor/mybucket.
Verify by re-running mc version info — status should show Suspended.

Known gotchas

Suspending stops new versions from being created but does NOT delete existing versions.
Existing versions remain accessible until removed; the bucket keeps its old versions.
Versioning can be re-enabled later with mc version enable, restoring new-version creation.
Object lock WORM buckets require versioning and generally should not be suspended.
