Configure a database accessory in Kamal

Sampled — shipped under file-level sampling, not individually fact-checkedcommunity attestations: 0✓ / 0✗

Steps

  1. Under accessories: in deploy.yml, define an entry like mysql: with image: mysql:8.0
  2. Target where it runs with host, hosts, role, roles, tag, or tags — accessory hosts don't need to be in the main servers list
  3. Add env: for credentials/config, and use directories: (auto-created on host) or files: (uploaded from repo, ERB-evaluated) for config/data persistence
  4. Optionally set port: for host:container port mapping and network: if not using the default kamal network
  5. Boot it with kamal accessory boot <name>; use kamal accessory --help for the full command set (reboot, logs, remove, etc.)
