Steps
Coordinate with your SHL representative to obtain the SHL TalentCentral credentials and the Harvest API key details SHL requires from the Greenhouse side.
In Greenhouse, create a Harvest API key with the permissions needed for the SHL integration and provide it to SHL as part of the partner setup.
Configure a job stage in Greenhouse named or designated as the SHL assessment stage; when a candidate enters this stage, SHL will trigger the assessment and email a link to the candidate.
Enable the Assessment and Background Check webhook event type in Greenhouse so that SHL can receive order signals and Greenhouse can receive completion callbacks.
When the candidate completes the assessment, SHL posts scores and report data back to Greenhouse, where they appear on the candidate profile.
Verify the integration in a non-production job before going live by manually advancing a test candidate through the configured stage.
Known gotchas
SHL's Greenhouse integration is configured largely on the SHL side through your account representative rather than via a self-serve API portal — account for implementation lead time.
Assessment links expire; if a candidate does not complete within the configured window, re-invitation requires manual action or a new API trigger rather than automatic retry.
Score report data returned to Greenhouse may be delayed by minutes after candidate submission; do not treat an absent report as a failed assessment immediately.
