Steps
Install PotreeConverter (2.0+ recommended for speed and reduced output file count)
Run PotreeConverter against your source LAS/LAZ file(s), specifying an output directory
Confirm the converter produced the compact PotreeConverter 2.0 output (a handful of files) rather than the older 1.7-style output (thousands to millions of files)
Deploy the output directory plus the Potree viewer HTML/JS assets to a web server — Potree cannot load point cloud files directly from the local filesystem
Load the resulting metadata.json in the Potree Viewer to confirm rendering and level-of-detail streaming work as expected
Known gotchas
Files must be served over HTTP(S); opening the generated HTML directly from disk (file://) fails due to browser security restrictions
PotreeConverter 1.7 output can produce extremely high file counts, which is painful to copy or upload — prefer 2.0 unless a specific compatibility reason requires 1.7
Potree is a viewer/converter, not a managed cloud service — hosting, updates, and access control are entirely your responsibility
