Steps

2. If enrolled, the state provides free PFAS testing of the private well at no cost to the owner
3. If results show PFOA or PFOS at or above New York's drinking water standard of 10 parts per trillion, the owner may apply for a rebate toward remediation
4. Rebate amounts: up to $5,000 for a PFAS water treatment system, up to $10,000 to connect to public water supply, or up to $1,000 for a point-of-use treatment system in certain cases
5. Confirm current county application windows before advising a specific timeline, since the program opens new counties on a rolling basis rather than statewide all at once
