Confirm the current designation and edition of ASTM C67/C67M directly on astm.org's store before citing a specific year in the spec, since editions update periodically.
Use the standard's sampling procedure to pull a representative brick sample from either existing salvage stock or a proposed replacement source at the specified sample size.
Run the relevant subset of tests for the decision at hand: compressive strength, absorption (24-hour cold, 5-hour boiling), saturation coefficient and freeze-thaw resistance for durability, or modulus of rupture for structural brick.
