Steps

  1. Authenticate with an OctoPrint API key via the X-Api-Key header
  2. GET /api/printer to retrieve current tool/bed temperatures and state flags (operational, printing, paused, error, etc.)
  3. GET /api/connection to read the current serial connection state, port, and baudrate settings
  4. Use the returned state.flags to drive automation logic, e.g. block new jobs while error is true
