Call GET https://www.thecolorapi.com/scheme?hex={seed_hex}&mode={mode}&count={n}
Choose a mode: monochrome, monochrome-dark, monochrome-light, analogic, complement, analogic-complement, triad, or quad
Read the colors array in the response for each generated color's hex/rgb/name
Pair with the /id endpoint if you also need the closest common name for each generated color
Known gotchas
Default mode is monochrome and default count is 5 if not specified — set both explicitly for predictable proposal output
