Steps
Search the public ALTA Registry by company legal/DBA name or by ALTA Registry ID (ID searches are always exact match).
Note that basic company and contact information is visible to any visitor without logging in.
If you need confirmed underwriter relationship details, obtain an ALTA Registry subscription (available to lending organizations and their technology vendors) and log in via the Registry Management System.
For bulk use cases, request a full Registry download in Excel, XML, or JSON format instead of doing individual lookups.
Track that an agent's ALTA ID stays permanent even if their confirmed-underwriter relationships change over time.
Known gotchas
The ALTA Registry is a lookup/subscription database, not a public REST API with documented endpoints — bulk access is via licensed download, not ad hoc HTTP calls.
An ALTA Registry listing does not replace a Closing Protection Letter (CPL) process — it only speeds up identity verification.
Confirmed-underwriter relationship data is restricted to paying Registry subscribers; the public-facing search only shows basic listing info.
