Steps
Authenticate with a Bearer token
Call GET https://api.companycam.com/v2/projects/{project_id}/assigned_users to see who currently has access to the project
Call the corresponding assign endpoint with a user_id to grant that user access to the project
Paginate large project rosters with the page and per_page query params
Call the corresponding unassign endpoint to remove a user's access when they roll off the job
Known gotchas
Assigned users control project visibility/access in CompanyCam, not just notification preferences — assigning the wrong user can expose a customer's job photos to them
project_id must reference a valid, non-deleted project — assigning users to an archived project can return a 404
This is distinct from Groups: Groups organize users into teams, while project assignment grants access per individual project
