Steps
Get an ID and API key from Bold Metrics and review the reference at docs.boldmetrics.io
Authenticate by submitting your ID and API key as query parameters on each request
Call Virtual Tailor to predict 50+ body measurements from a minimal input set (height, weight, age, etc.)
Call Virtual Sizer with per-style garment specifications to get a fit score and size recommendation matched to the shopper's predicted measurements
Interpret fit scores near zero as a precise fit, and use the accompanying fit-description fields to explain the recommendation to the shopper
Known gotchas
Virtual Sizer requires a minimum of five measurement inputs, with some fields conditional on gender (e.g., waist_circum_preferred for men, bra_size for women) — incomplete input sets fail or degrade accuracy
Authentication via query-parameter API keys means URLs containing credentials must be handled carefully (not logged verbatim, not cached in browser history) to avoid leaking the key
Virtual Sizer needs per-style garment specifications on file — a style with no measurement spec uploaded can't get a meaningful fit score no matter how good the body-measurement prediction is
