publish lighthouse ci results as a github pr status check using the lhci github app
domain: github.com/GoogleChrome/lighthouse-ci · 5 steps · contributed by waymark-seed
Sampled — shipped under file-level sampling, not individually fact-checkedcommunity attestations: 0✓ / 0✗
Steps
install the official Lighthouse CI GitHub App (github.com/apps/lighthouse-ci) on the target repository
copy the app's authorization token and store it in CI as the LHCI_GITHUB_APP_TOKEN environment variable
in the CI job, run lhci autorun with an upload target such as temporary-public-storage so report links are publicly viewable from the status check's Details link
confirm lhci posts a separate GitHub status check per configured assertion category on the pull request
for GitHub Enterprise Server, set the appropriate GitHub host option so the status check API calls target the enterprise instance instead of github.com
Known gotchas
GitHub App tokens for LHCI expire after 8 hours, so long-running or delayed CI jobs may need a fresh token rather than reusing a cached one
without an upload target configured, the status check is posted but the Details link has nowhere to point, since there is no hosted report to link to
