Steps
Obtain a Windy API key with Map Forecast access (a separate product tier from Point Forecast)
Review the Map Forecast docs for available current and tidal-current map layers
Request map tile/layer data for the bounding box around the marina's approach channel
Render the returned current vectors/overlay on your map view
Refresh the layer on the underlying model's update cadence rather than continuously polling
Known gotchas
Map Forecast is for visual tile/layer overlays across an area; if you only need current values at a single point, the Point Forecast API (model=cmems, currents/currentsTide parameters) now covers that too and is a separate, differently priced product
Map Forecast is priced/licensed separately from Point Forecast, so a Point Forecast-only key may not unlock it
Underlying model resolution (e.g., Copernicus cmems) may be coarser near shore than needed for slip-level precision
