Steps
Register an application in production mode on the DHL API Developer Portal for the 'DHL Parcel DE Shipping (Post & Parcel Germany)' API and obtain business-customer credentials.
Authenticate via the Authentication API to obtain an access token (recommended: use a dedicated 'system user' rather than a personal Business Customer Portal login).
Build the shipment's receiver address as a Packstation-type address, supplying the locker's lockerID (Packstationnummer) together with postal code and city.
Include the recipient's Postnummer (DHL customer/post number) in the name/address-suffix field — Packstation delivery requires it.
Submit the shipment request and retrieve the generated label as with a standard Parcel DE shipment.
Known gotchas
Packstation lockerID addressing only works for German domestic Packstations — for international droppoint/locker delivery use DHL Parcel International (V53WPAK) with a 'Closest Droppoint' delivery type instead.
The Postnummer is mandatory for Packstation delivery, not optional metadata — shipments without it will fail or misroute.
You cannot log in to the Business Customer Portal with a system user account; system users are API-only credentials, provisioned separately from portal logins.
