Steps

1. Fetch mismo.org/events-education/certifications/emortgage-technology-certification/ron to confirm the MISMO RON Certification verifies a RON System's functionality, procedures, and policies against the MISMO RON Standards via application review and a live demonstration.
2. Check the published list of certified RON providers at the 'certified-ron-providers' page linked from the RON Certification page for a specific vendor's current status.
3. Note the certification is NOT a legal/regulatory compliance verification — MISMO explicitly states the certification 'does not verify compliance with any particular federal, state, county, or other governing/regulatory body laws, regulations, rules, or requirements.'
4. If applying for certification on behalf of a vendor, follow the four-step process: complete the eMortgage Technology Certification Application, sign the Application Agreement, complete the RON Questionnaire/Attestations/Documentation, and submit all forms by email to MISMO with fees paid before review begins.
5. Treat MISMO RON Certification as one input (platform standards compliance) among several checks (state RON authorization, notary commission, background screening) when vetting a RON vendor — not a substitute for legal authorization checks.
