Steps
Under Settings > Service Emails, complete Contact Information, choose Where To Send Emails routing, toggle Service Emails ON, and customize Subject/Header/Default Message/checkboxes/Footer
Optionally add reusable Service Email Messages and configure Skipped Stops Emails with their own default message and reasons
Under Settings > Service Texts, accept the SMS terms of service (a per-message fee applies outside the Scaling Up/Owning the Market tiers) and activate the feature
Toggle on the specific text triggers: On My Way (tech-triggered en route), Completed Service (route stops and work orders), and Skipped Stop
For per-work-order-type texts, edit each Work Order Type and check Notify the customer when finished; review delivery via the Sent Service Texts report
Known gotchas
Service texts are billed per message ($0.029/text) unless included in a higher subscription tier - high message volume directly affects the Skimmer bill
Texts go out only to the number in a customer's Mobile Phone 1 field, and customers can't reply - any callback attempt gets a generic non-receiving message
An invoice-ready text is suppressed if the invoice is set to AutoPay
