Query current inventory levels for your items using the GET inventory endpoint, specifying SKU identifiers to retrieve on-hand quantities
Build inventory update payloads with the SKU, fulfillment method (seller-fulfilled or WFS), and the updated quantity available for sale
Submit inventory updates via the Inventory API update endpoint; for large assortments use the bulk feed approach rather than per-SKU calls to stay within rate limits
For items fulfilled via Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), use the WFS-specific inventory API to retrieve real-time fulfillment center stock levels and sync your internal records
Monitor the inventory feed status and reconcile discrepancies between submitted quantities and confirmed quantities in the portal
Known gotchas
Walmart Fulfillment Services inventory is tracked separately from seller-fulfilled inventory — querying or updating the wrong fulfillment type will produce inaccurate stock data
Inventory updates submitted via feeds are processed asynchronously; do not assume instant propagation — poll the feed status endpoint to confirm processing before assuming updates are live
Setting inventory to zero does not automatically suppress the listing — the item may still appear as purchasable briefly; also verify your suppression or unavailability settings in Seller Center
