Steps
Confirm your organization has an existing Trade Desk seat and has been explicitly granted Platform API access/credentials by your TTD account team, since the API is not self-serve
Authenticate against the Partner Portal API using your issued credentials, then create or select an Advertiser under your Partner/Seat
Create the Campaign under that Advertiser with budget, flight dates, and channel/objective settings
Create one or more Ad Groups under the campaign specifying targeting (audience, inventory, geo), bid strategy, and budget allocation
Create Ads within each Ad Group referencing approved creative assets
Use the Data Integration API separately for first-party audience data, and the My Reports/reporting endpoints to pull performance once the campaign is live
Known gotchas
API access is gated behind an existing seat/partnership plus explicit enablement — there is no public self-serve signup for the Platform API
The resource hierarchy (Partner/Seat to Advertiser to Campaign to Ad Group to Ad) must be created strictly top-down; skipping a level fails validation
My Reports (reporting) is a functionally separate API area from campaign management, so Platform API access for building campaigns does not automatically include reporting access/credentials
