Access the Web-Based Open Burn Authorization Request (WebOBA) system via fdacs.gov/Forest-Wildfire/Wildland-Fire or call the local FFS field unit
Request authorization after 4pm the day before the planned burn, or the morning of the burn day
Wait for FFS to issue or deny the authorization based on current fire danger, weather, and smoke management conditions
If burning continues past one day, request an extended authorization (up to 3 consecutive days) or call in a new authorization each subsequent day
