Steps
Register the business's ERP/invoicing system for myDATA API access and obtain AADE credentials per the published myDATA REST API documentation
Classify each transaction using the required income/expense classification codes mandated by myDATA before transmission
Submit invoice and bookkeeping data to the myDATA API at or near issuance for wholesale/outgoing invoices, per the real-time reporting requirement in effect since January 2024
Retrieve the AADE-issued MARK (unique transmission ID) confirming the document was recorded into the taxpayer's electronic books (e-Books)
Reconcile the AADE-side e-Books totals against the business's own statutory accounting records to catch transmission gaps
Known gotchas
Greece is layering a mandatory structured B2B e-invoicing regime on top of existing myDATA reporting in phased waves starting March 2026 — myDATA reporting alone will not satisfy the newer e-invoicing mandate once a business's wave applies
Same-day (or near-real-time) transmission is required for wholesale outgoing invoices — batching myDATA submissions to a nightly job risks non-compliance
A document only receives a MARK after successful validation; a failed submission is not part of the official e-Books until corrected and resubmitted, so 'submitted' should not be treated as equivalent to 'recorded' in error-handling logic
