Steps
In the CapRover dashboard, browse One-Click Apps (WordPress, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, etc.) or add a custom one-click-apps repository URL
Select the app, fill in the presented configuration fields (passwords, versions, ports), and deploy
Connect from another CapRover app on the same instance using the internal address srv-captain--<appname>:<port>
To connect from outside the cluster, map a host port to the container port under App Configuration → Port Mapping
Open the corresponding firewall port on the host (e.g. ufw allow <port>) to allow the remote connection
Known gotchas
Changing a config field like PASSWORD after deployment usually only affects the original install step, not the already-running database — change credentials via the database's own tools instead
Deleting and recreating a one-click app to upgrade requires keeping the same app name and NOT removing its volume, or persistent data is lost
Multiple databases on the same default port (e.g. two MySQL apps both on 3306) don't conflict internally since each runs in its own container — only external port mappings need to be unique
