Steps
Get an API key from your Seam workspace; sandbox workspaces support virtual devices only, so real locks require a non-sandbox workspace.
Create a Connect Webview so the property owner or manager can authorize their smart-lock brand account.
List the linked locks for that property via the locks endpoint.
Create a timebound access code with a defined start/end window scoped to the showing appointment.
Call the lock/unlock endpoints directly if remote control rather than a code is needed.
Known gotchas
Each lock brand still requires its own OAuth-style account linking through the webview — there is no universal single sign-on across brands.
Sandbox keys only work with virtual/simulated devices, not real hardware.
Rently is a real-estate-specific alternative with its own showing/scheduling features, but much of its reference documentation is gated behind a partner login rather than fully public.
