Steps

  1. Call the Derived Product API's sea level trends product for the target station, filtering by station ID and affil (US or Global).
  2. Read the returned linear trend (mm/year or ft/century equivalent) with its trend error and the start/end dates of the record used.
  3. Cross-reference with the Sea Level Rise Projections product for scenario-based future estimates (low/intermediate/high) if longer-horizon planning is needed.
  4. Use the trend to inform dock height, piling extension, or bulkhead planning at the marina.
  5. Note the record length used for the trend — very short records produce unreliable long-term trend estimates.
