Steps

2. If a manufacturer-supplied reinforcement/bracing kit exists for the specific door model, confirm it is designed and rated for that model and installed per the manufacturer's instructions.
3. Verify with the local building official whether a reinforcement retrofit is an acceptable path to code compliance in the jurisdiction, or whether full replacement with an approved product is required instead.
4. Establish an operational pre-storm procedure: confirm all bracing/kit components are on-site and functional, close and secure the door ahead of the storm, and verify backup power/manual-release procedures if the operator will lose power.
5. Document the reinforcement kit's rating and installation, and the pre-storm procedure, for the facility's emergency-preparedness records.
