Steps

  1. Provision an EMQX Cloud (or EMQX Enterprise) cluster and connect devices to it, replacing the GCP Cloud IoT Core MQTT bridge
  2. Configure device authentication using JWT, compatible with the auth model devices previously used against GCP
  3. In EMQX's rule engine, create a rule matching the relevant MQTT topics
  4. Add a GCP Pub/Sub resource under Rule Engine > Resources, supplying a Service Account JSON key and target Pub/Sub Topic ID
  5. Attach a data-forward-to-GCP-Pub/Sub action to the rule so matched messages are republished into Pub/Sub
