In-depth guide

Create packages from a harvest in Metrc — endpoint, tag rules, and the 10-object cap — the full failure-mode walkthrough related to api-ca.metrc.com, checked against official docs, with linked verified routes.

Steps

  1. Confirm you are creating an outgoing manifest to another in-state licensee, since this uses a different endpoint family than incoming shipments from outside the tracked system.
  2. Retrieve valid transfer types and confirm the receiving facility's license number.
  3. Gather the package labels to include on the manifest.
  4. Submit shipper/recipient license numbers, transfer type, transporter and vehicle information, and package labels to the outgoing transfer template endpoint.
  5. Add delivery-level detail (destination sequence, transporter assignment) to the created template before the shipment departs.
  6. Retrieve the manifest document from the transfer manifest endpoint once the template is finalized.
