Add or remove Streamlined Member States on an existing Streamlined Sales Tax Registration System (SSTRS) registration without filing a new application

Steps

1. Log in at sstregister.org using your existing SSTID and password rather than starting a new registration.
2. To add states, use the existing account dashboard to add registrations for additional Streamlined states as needed — this does not require re-entering your full business profile.
3. To stop being registered in a state, go to Edit State Registrations and end your registration through the SSTRS for the selected state(s); select End Registration in All States if closing entirely or changing FEIN/entity type.
4. When ending a state registration, enter the Last Date of Sales for that state; if you currently use a Certified Service Provider, this date is limited to the last day of last month, this month, or next month.
5. Confirm the change via the automatic confirmation email sent to the account's contact person; if it doesn't arrive, check spam and verify the contact email on file before contacting the SST registration team.
6. Continue filing returns, including nil returns, through each state's required cadence up through the last date you were registered — ending SSTRS registration does not retroactively remove filing obligations for the period you were registered.
