Steps Apply for access to Blurb's Self Service Print API and its free sandbox environment via blurb.com/print-api-software. Review documentation and get support through the API Support portal at blurbapisupport.blurb.com. Build a Photobook resource by generating an XML list of photos and POSTing it to the Photobook resource endpoint. Use the book pricing resource to retrieve prices in different currencies for various book/size/paper combinations before placing an order. Test fully in the sandbox before switching to production credentials for real print orders.
Known gotchas The API is XML-based, not JSON -- request/response payload handling differs from most modern REST APIs in this space. Blurb's API is oriented around photobooks specifically, not general trade-book manuscripts like Lulu or IngramSpark.
