Steps
Integrate Square's Reader SDK and/or Terminal API into the towing dispatch/mobile app, as Towbook has done
Equip office staff with Square Terminal for impound-release payments and drivers with Square Reader or Tap to Pay for on-scene payments
Have the driver or staff initiate the charge from the job/invoice record so payment ties back to the specific service call
Process the card-present transaction (tap, dip, or swipe) and issue a digital or printed receipt
Reconcile the payment automatically against the job in the towing software's invoicing records
Known gotchas
The integration depends on the towing software vendor having actually built Square support (documented for Towbook); it isn't automatically available in every towing platform
Card-present-rate qualification (the lower processing rate) generally requires the tap/dip/swipe flow through Square's supported hardware or Tap to Pay; manually keyed entries are typically charged a higher rate
