Documented steps

  1. Create the destination first: mkfifo logs.fifo (named pipe) or touch logs.file (regular file)
  2. Configure once via API: curl --unix-socket /tmp/firecracker.socket -X PUT http://localhost/logger -d '{"log_path":"logs.fifo","level":"Warning","show_level":false,"show_log_origin":false}'
  3. Or set it at startup on the CLI: firecracker --api-sock /tmp/firecracker.socket --log-path logs.fifo --level Error --show-level --show-log-origin (level default is Warning)
  4. Read logs: for a named pipe, loop 'read line <logs.fifo'; for a regular file just tail/cat it
