  1. Register an OAuth app or generate API keys from the Onshape Developer Portal (cad.onshape.com/appstore/dev-portal)
  2. Authenticate REST calls to the base URL https://cad.onshape.com/api
  3. Resolve the target document, workspace, and version/microversion IDs via the Documents endpoint
  4. Call the Part Studio translation endpoint requesting STEP output for that exact version
  5. Call the assembly/part-studio BOM endpoint to retrieve structured bill-of-materials data
