Steps

2. Establish a routine maintenance schedule (dust mopping, spray buffing/burnishing frequency) sized to the facility's actual foot traffic rather than a generic interval
3. Select floor finish and burnishing pad combinations appropriate to the substrate and desired gloss level, following the finish manufacturer's compatibility guidance
4. Schedule periodic deep maintenance (scrub-and-recoat or strip-and-refinish) separately from routine burnishing, since burnishing alone cannot indefinitely substitute for finish buildup removal
5. Train staff on high-speed burnisher operation and safety (dust collection, floor moisture checks, cord/battery management) to avoid damaging finish or creating slip hazards
6. Track finish coat history and wear per area so recoat/strip timing is based on documented condition rather than guesswork
