Documented steps Generate a temporary download URL with mc share download ALIAS/BUCKET/object.txt. Generate an upload URL with mc share upload ALIAS/BUCKET/object.txt (returns a POST form or curl command). Control the expiry with --expire DURATION, e.g. --expire 2h for two hours; the default is 168h (7 days). For a whole bucket or prefix, add --recursive so every object gets a URL. For a specific version on a versioned bucket, use --version-id <id> on the download command. Known gotchas The default/expiry is capped by the server; presigned URLs cannot be truly permanent — for permanent public access set an anonymous policy instead. --expire is a Go-style duration string (e.g. 30d, 12h34m56s); the default is 168h. --recursive is required whenever the path is a bucket or prefix rather than a single object.
