Steps

  1. Enable the REST Data Server under Configuration > Servers in the Intelligence Hub application settings
  2. Choose Bearer token or OAuth2.0 password-grant authentication for the service, as documented in the REST Connector authentication article
  3. Query the automatically-created endpoints for Connection Inputs, Outputs, Models, and Instances to pull contextualized OT data without needing to know the underlying source protocol
  4. Inspect returned instance data to confirm it reflects the modeled (contextualized) representation rather than raw tag values
  5. Monitor the Replay log, where REST Data Server calls are recorded under the "RestDataServer" trigger type, for troubleshooting
