Go to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) verify portal at tdlr.texas.gov/verify.htm or the Active License Search at tdlr.texas.gov/LicenseSearch/
Search by the auctioneer's name or license number
Check whether the license is Active and note the expiration date
Confirm whether the engagement is a live, in-person auction (licensed) versus an internet-only auction with no live-bid component (TDLR exempts pure internet auctions from the licensing requirement)
