Go to icc-es.org and use the site's evaluation report search/directory to look up reports by report number, manufacturer name, or product category
Open the matching ESR PDF and confirm which code editions (e.g., IBC/IRC year) and acceptance criteria (AC##) it was evaluated against
Check the report's expiration/reissuance date at the top of the document — ESRs are reissued periodically and can expire or be revised
Review the 'Conditions of Use' section, which typically restricts the report to specific installation methods, substrates, or load conditions — a product used outside those conditions is not covered by the ESR
