Steps
Provision Simphony Cloud Service access and obtain STS Gen2 API credentials for the property/enterprise
Call the Organizations and Configuration APIs to retrieve revenue center and menu configuration needed before posting a check
Use the Checks API to calculate and create a new guest check
Post menu items, quantities, and discounts to the check, using the multi-discount and quantity/definition-sequence support available in current STS Gen2 versions
Close and settle the check, confirming totals reconcile with the configuration retrieved earlier
Known gotchas
STS Gen2 is a cloud-only API tied to Simphony Cloud Service; it is not a drop-in replacement for the older Gen1 Transaction Services API used with on-premises Simphony deployments
Checks must be built from configuration pulled via the Organizations/Configuration APIs first; posting items with ids that do not match the current menu configuration will fail
This is a food-and-beverage POS transaction API, separate from OHIP/OPERA Cloud property-management APIs, even though both are Oracle Hospitality products under the same docs.oracle.com domain
