Steps
Go to appraisalfoundation.org/pages/uspap for the current USPAP status.
Confirm the current edition (the 2024 Edition, effective January 1, 2024, at time of writing) and note that USPAP no longer follows a fixed two-year edition cycle — it stays in effect until the Appraisal Standards Board adopts and publishes a revision with a new effective date.
Note that Advisory Opinions and FAQs were split out of the core USPAP document into a separate Guidance and Reference Manual starting with the 2024 edition.
Separately confirm the 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course requirement still runs on its own two-calendar-year cycle, independent of the USPAP document's edition cycle.
Check for newly effective AQB Qualification Criteria items that ride alongside USPAP but are distinct from it (e.g., a valuation-bias/fair-housing course requirement effective January 1, 2026, on its own biennial cycle).
Known gotchas
Don't assume USPAP still updates on a fixed two-year schedule like pre-2024 editions — it is now open-ended; check the ASB's site for the current effective edition before citing a year.
The 7-Hour Update course cycle and the USPAP document's edition cycle are two different things now — conflating them produces wrong compliance dates.
