Documented steps Run `mc admin config set ALIAS SUBSYSTEM KEY=VALUE ...` with one or more space-separated KEY=VALUE pairs. Run `mc admin config set ALIAS` alone to list subsystems, or `mc admin config set ALIAS SUBSYSTEM` to describe accepted keys. Example: `mc admin config set myaistor region name=us-west-1`. Some changes apply immediately; the command tells you when a restart is required. Review change history with `mc admin config history ALIAS` and roll back with `mc admin config restore ALIAS RESTOREID`.
Known gotchas Environment-variable settings always win over `mc admin config set` and cannot be overridden client-side. `restore` always advises restart and saves config WITHOUT applying it - unlike `set`, which applies many changes immediately. Named targets use a colon, e.g. `notify_mqtt:name1`. Changing network/TLS/root subsystems can drop admin access if misconfigured - verify after applying.
