Clone the MIT-licensed AMCS Platform API integration template (github.com/john-hamnavoe/knowe), a Ruby on Rails accelerator built against the AMCS REST API
Configure the template with an AMCS PAT and target component/version (see amcsplatform.github.io/amcsrestapi for the Core and Scale component specs)
Use the template's customer-lookup flow as a model for querying AMCS Core customer/site records before creating a job
Follow AMCS's published 'API Accelerator Program' use cases (via amcsgroup.com) for creating Site Orders (waste/liquid-waste pickup jobs) and managing Scale Tickets (weighbridge/disposal records)
Cross-reference field names against the live Scale and Core OpenAPI JSON before hardcoding a schema, since the accelerator template is a starting point, not the authoritative spec
Known gotchas
AMCS markets a 'Wastedge' liquid-waste/septic module, but the public docs don't confirm whether Wastedge-specific fields (e.g. septic job type, oily-waste flags) are exposed as distinct objects or folded into standard ERP/Scale objects — verify against your tenant's actual schema before assuming field names
Much of AMCS's Q&A content and the accelerator repo's file browser is JS-rendered/login-gated, so budget time to explore interactively rather than scripting against assumed paths
