Sampled — shipped under file-level sampling, not individually fact-checked community attestations: 0✓ / 0✗
Steps Register an app in the Clover Developer Dashboard, choosing OAuth2 (App Market) or a direct merchant API token (private app) Create the order with the merchant Orders endpoint, then add line items to it Fetch the order with lineItems expanded to verify it was created correctly Configure and verify HMAC-signed webhooks so you're notified of order status changes made in-store If accepting online payment, use the separate Ecommerce API rather than the Orders API for payment processing
Known gotchas The Orders REST API and the Ecommerce (hosted checkout) API are easy to conflate — they serve different purposes and aren't interchangeable Public apps require App Market review/certification before broad merchant distribution; private apps skip review but are single-merchant only Webhook payloads must have their HMAC signature verified, and order injection should be idempotent to handle retries safely
