Steps
Authenticate via OAuth2 and obtain a bearer token with read/read_candidate scope (and write access for notes).
Use the Candidates and Notes resources described in the official API Reference (https://api.jobadder.com/v2/docs) to add a note tied to a specific candidate id.
Supply the note body/text and any note-type metadata required by the schema shown in the interactive reference.
List existing notes for the candidate via the same Notes resource to confirm the note was recorded and to avoid duplicate entries.
Optionally subscribe to candidate_updated webhook events to detect when notes or other candidate changes occur from the JobAdder UI side.
Known gotchas
JobAdder's interactive API Reference is the authoritative source for the exact note-creation request shape — third-party integration write-ups (Zapier, Make) describe the capability but not the raw HTTP contract.
Creating a note does not itself raise a webhook event unless you're specifically watching candidate_updated or a related change event.
Notes are scoped per-candidate; confirm you have the correct candidate id (not a job application or placement id) before posting.
