Steps

  1. Confirm the source instrument/software supports AnIML export, or use the open XML Schema Definitions at github.com/AnIML/schemas to build/validate files directly
  2. Encode experiment metadata, sample info, and result data using the technique-agnostic AnIML Core schema
  3. Apply the matching AnIML Technique Definition (one per analytical technique, e.g. chromatography, spectroscopy) to constrain technique-specific fields
  4. Validate the resulting AnIML document against the published Core and Technique XSDs before ingesting into a LIMS/ELN
  5. Add vendor- or institution-specific fields only through documented Technique Definition Extensions rather than modifying Core
