Steps
Configure an S3-compatible destination first — it's a hard prerequisite for any backup
Navigate to Web Server → Backups and select Create Backup
Choose the S3 destination and (optionally) configure the backup schedule with a cron expression
Dokploy backs up the dokploy-postgres database and the /etc/dokploy filesystem, zips both together, and uploads the archive to S3
Test restoration via Web Server → Backups → Restore Backup, selecting the S3 destination and the specific backup file
Known gotchas
This backs up Dokploy's own control-plane Postgres instance and config directory, not necessarily a user-deployed Postgres database service — check whether your app's database needs its own separate backup configuration
Restoring drops the existing dokploy-postgres database and disconnects current users before restoring — plan for a maintenance window
If the server's IP changes after a restore, you must manually update it under Web Server → Server and reconfigure Git providers/DNS that referenced the old IP
