Use the free-search page to filter by legislation (Directive 2014/33/EU – Lifts), country, or notified body name/ID number
Confirm the body's designation is currently active (not withdrawn, suspended, or restricted) and covers the relevant conformity assessment module (e.g., B+D, B+E, B+F, G, H)
Check that the listed product/scope range includes your specific lift type before engaging the body

Known gotchas

NANDO was folded into the newer SMCS portal; older bookmarks to the ec.europa.eu/growth/tools-databases/nando URL may redirect or be stale, so use the webgate.ec.europa.eu SMCS link
A notified body being listed under the Lift Directive doesn't guarantee it covers your specific module/product scope; always check scope details, not just the directive match
